Hi,
 
Maybe abit late (sorry don't mean to rag old posts), but in a previous life I worked alongside product management teams who fought with sales teams over pricing. One (PM) stated that prices should be set at what the market could bear, whereas the other (sales) stated it should be on a cost plus basis.
 
The reality however is in between, but pricing structures should planned at the beginning of a venture or as early as possible. Also it is easier to lower prices than raise them.
