I was talking to a friend the other day and he gave me a tip for selling on Ebay - you should make sure you refer to somewhere that is selling what you are selling at a much higher price. Don't worry that there might be other places that are cheaper, you are trying to set the idea in buyers minds that they are getting a massive saving.

Do you know any other techniques for making Ebay sales go well?

Never tried buying/selling on ebay, but it seems like such a fertile market and worth turning attention to. Have to admit my main fear as a buyer would be being burned - would need to address that as a seller, too, I guess.

Just seen this post, sorry for resserrecting an old thread but I wanted to stress the importance of making your page look professional with a template instead of just like someone selling from their front room. Also check many times for typos - they can really put people off.

That is a very good tip - to use neat templates instead of just inputting your text in one big paragraph block.  Just as in all other online sales, you have to have something that attracts the customer away from others and toward you - whether it be lower prices or a better guarantee or better customer service.  Ebay is VERY competitive.

How do you rate titles such as "l@@k!!!" "GREAT BARGAIN INSIDE!" and such? I think they attract attention withthe right kind of product but for most, I think they're really off putting.

I won't look at those products usually...I'm one who is put off by words that have typos...i have no problem in a forum or such, as we all do that, but if i want to put faith in that person that I'm buying from, I notice what is wrong with a page as much as what is right with the page...

Selling on ebay is great if you have many positive feedback.  The buyers will trust the seller if there are good feedback.  If you want to make online selling your career, eBay has a fertile and competitive market.

I have never bought anything on E-bay.  I always look at the art for sale there.  It comes in abundance.

i have never tried selling nor buying in ebay....but i think it's  a good thing to try if as a seller you want to get good deals and as a buyer you want to earn extra income...

i usually get turned off too with anything that has such phrases-- GREAT DEALS! or something like that...

This is actually a GREAT way to find bargains on Ebay.  I got my most recent digital camera from a person with very good feedback for about 1/3 of retail price.  No one else bid on it because, instead of "camera" in the title, it said "camrea."  No one could find it in the search.
