I was wondering if anyone did any off-line marketing, either in media resources (TV, newspaper, etc) or in any other fashion.

I've hung some fliers for one of my businesses in library, college, and supermarket bulletin boards and I always have business cards ready to hand out if someone asks me about my work.

What works for you?

I do a lot of business networking meetings - at times with people that I have met online - but with an ultimate purpose of making good business contacts.

Like you I also make sure I always have my business card with me.

Have any of you compiled some stats about your offline and online marketing and how well they worked? Was one more impressive than the other?

I haven't been doing so, but I'm in the process of setting up a few systems to do so.

There are so many marketing opportunities this days and you can spend so much time on it, that its critical to maximise your time by finding out what is most effective.

I've advertised in the Thomson Directory, and so far it's generated zero interest after a year...

I'll be moving soon, and when I do, I fully intend to apply a local marketing campaign, namely through letters.

I figure I'll offer free advice and help, then include a discount coupon on my marketing services. Smiley

Still not clear on the details, but I do think that I very much need more small-time customers. My business at present is too reliant on a few big clients. Need to spread the risk. Smiley

I've not done that, but on my car I have one of my websites in vinyl lettering. I ordered it for like $10 bucks...inexpensive advertising and I'm on the road often and in different areas...I feel like it was a great investment!

I'm sending postcards to my target market, but it's a small niche, so not to the general public.

Otherwise i'm an Adwords girl.

I use postcards, brochures, and flyers. In the beginning of next year, I'm going to move toward generating snail mail lists and developing form letters based on new business ads.

I always have business cards on hand to hand out to likely looking people, or people who actually compliment me on what I'm wearing (if it is something I sell).
