Article Writing and Distribution

Does anyone write articles and distribute them to free article directories as part of their marketing plan?  I read a lot about this all over the place.  Not only do you get your link out there on all the directories (each article can have a linked author's bio), but webmasters, newsletter publishers, bloggers, can copy your article and put it on their own sites.

How has article distribution been working for you?

I haven't done it but it sounds like a great idea. It's just another form of doing a press release and sending it out to the world.

Thanks for reminding me about the press releases!  I always forget about that form of marketing for some reason!

Can you write multiple press releases for the same business... like if you update something or add more functionality?

Huh? Of course you can. You can send out a mass release or tailor them to specific people but make sure if you're doing it, you really have something to tell or you'll get a bad rep.

Do you recommend any particular online press release service?
