I'm still on dial-up.  (Boooooooo!)

There is no DSL offered in my area. (Boooooo!)

I have just learned that the street I live on is finally surging into the 20th century and getting underground cable lines run into it.  Therefore, I will be able to get a cable modem. (Yayyyyy!)

For anyone that knows -- what is the difference between an 8Mbps/768Kbps and 6Mbps/384Kbps connection.  I mean, anything is going to be faster than what I'm on now!  But, for just regular internet usage and the occasional download, is the 6 enough?  Will I be able to play videos and stuff like that?
