What are your views on outsourcing? In particular, things like moving manufacturing to overseas operations, and how it helps or hinders the economies of the countries. What's your take on this?

As my company is involved in outsourcing "People services" then I am very pro outsourcing.

The reason people got into business is not to focus on non core activities.

With the increasing legislation burdon on employers the "risk" attached to not outsourcing is going to increase as employers will leave themselves at risk.

Also few companies can employ the knowledge that specialist outsourcers can.

Since I come from Asia, outsourcing is good for me and for those who are getting the most out of it.  I understand that this is affecting negatively the employment and economy of other countries but it is a great help to those who are in the third world/developing nations.

Outsourcing is just grand for economies in other countries.

I'd have to see evidence that it's good for the US economy, however. Rarely does sending good people to the unemployment line in exchange for cheap, low-quality labor benefit anyone other than shareholders.

I think companies who reverse the outsourcing trend would be rewarded by customers.
