I have just started a blog with the goal of making it profitable without spending any money on it whatsoever.  I would like to know some ways to advertise it and build a good daily visitor amount.

I'm going to submit it to some blog directories, especially the high PR ones, use pingomatic every time I update the blog - which will be every day.

What other ways to get traffic to the blog?

To get started, make sure you join some community sights like MySpace and put a link on your page to the blog.

Well, I could just put my link over there, but I really have no interest in getting involved with the community.  I'm not quite sure how to make marketing on MySpace work - do you have to make a bunch of 'friends' and then spam them, or what?

Nah, cause then you're known as a spammer. Just make a page then go the classifieds area or whatever and you can write about what you offer. People who have similiar interests will seek it out.

Well, I wouldn't spam - don't worry! Smiley  I really know nothing about MySpace except the news likes to do reports about child molesters finding kids there.  I didn't know they had classifieds or anything.
